/in Fulfilled Twilight WishesJunyetta Seale (center) poses for a photo with members of Twilight Wish Foundation who granted her wish for a steam closet — a portable dry cleaning machine to care for her capes and hats.
Junyetta Seale, a resident of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, had her wish for a steam closet granted, thanks to our Allegheny County chapter. Seale, 77, known to many as “Ms. June,” was an award-winning costume designer for over 35 years. Now retired, she shares her unique, wearable art capes through her “Capes and Crowns” project which visits senior communities and nursing facilities. “Capes and Crowns” transforms into a pop-up fashion show where every senior is treated like a supermodel. Participants are encouraged to wear their favorite hat and choose one of Seale’s fabulous capes to wear during the event. To allow as many seniors as possible to experience “Capes and Crowns,” each cape must be dry–cleaned after every use. This is a very expensive and time-consuming necessity. Seale’s wish is for a steam closet which will sanitize and deodorize the capes safely for the seniors who use them. Her wish was granted on Thursday, May 23rd.
