Eileen Vehon, a resident of Latrobe, Pennsylvania had her wish for a laptop with speech recognition software granted, thanks to ourWestmoreland County chapter. Vehon suffered a spinal cord injury which caused a stroke when she was 69 years old. Now 75, Vehon has not been able to work or even drive herself since then. To keep herself busy, she is writing a book but is unable to type since her stroke. Having a laptop with speech recognition software will enable her to follow her dream of writing a book. Despite her physical limitations, Vehon still volunteers at her church’s soup kitchen for the homeless. Her wish was granted on May 27, 2024.
