Because she lives on a fixed income, she could not afford one on her own. Finnigan was thrilled to receive her new stove!

Because she lives on a very low, fixed income, Elliott had no furniture and had been sleeping on a cot. She was thrilled to receive furniture including a bed! Thank you to the Blessing Board for helping to grant this wish.

/in Fulfilled Wishes/by Mary FarrellBrenda Prince, a resident of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, had her wish to get her hair done and then travel to Virginia to see family with her sister and friend granted, thanks to our Allegheny County chapter. As part of her wish, she wants to pay for the first tank of gas and take them out to lunch while they are in Virginia. Prince, 71, is often the beneficiary of the generosity of her sister and friend. Because she lives on a fixed income, she could not afford to reciprocate. Prince has always been very involved in her community, teaching Sunday School at Liberty Baptist Church for over 35 years. In addition, she is a former respite care worker. Volunteers from the Allegheny County chapter presented Prince with her wish certificate and gift cards at her hair appointment on April 26, 2022.

Merrell, 78, is an Air Force veteran who lives on his own. His old mattress was over 40 years old, but because he lives on a fixed income, he could not afford it on his own. Volunteers from the chapter delivered not only a new mattress, box spring and frame, but also new bedding! Merrell was thrilled that the new bedding was navy blue – Air Force colors!

Ella Mae, who is 94, lives on her own in senior housing and is homebound. To pass the time and keep her mind off her pain, she loves to color and read. Prior to being homebound, Ella Mae volunteered at the Allentown Senior Center and was active in her building, volunteering at the food bank, in activities, and gardening. Volunteers from the Allegheny Chapter delivered an assortment of books, colored pencils and a lap desk to Smith on October 28th.
