/in Fulfilled WishesPhyllis Monsegur, a resident of The Grove Health & Rehabilitation in Hernando, had her wish to spend the day at the beach with her husband granted, thanks to our headquarters. Monsegur, 73, is a permanent resident of The Grove and is visited by her husband, John, every day. Because she is wheelchair-bound, it is difficult for her to leave the facility. They miss spending time together outside of the facility. Monsegur’s wish to spend some time at the beach and have lunch together was granted on February 6, 2022. Twilight Wish also provided her with a new outfit for this special occasion.
Michael A., 71, Pittsburgh, PA
/in Fulfilled WishesMichael Albrecht, 71, a resident of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, recently had his wish for a new vacuum cleaner granted by our Allegheny County chapter. Albrecht recently had surgery for COPD and it is vital to his health that his apartment stay clean. Because he lives on a fixed income, he could not afford it on his own.
Elizabeth S., 69, Shoemakersville, PA
/in Fulfilled WishesElizabeth Sites, 69, a resident of Shoemakersville, Pennsylvania, recently had her wish for wheelchair accessible ramps installed on her home granted by our headquarters. Sites spent seven years in a nursing home after suffering three strokes. After she was released, she saved her money so she could afford to buy her own home. Since Sites lives on a fixed income, she could not afford to install the ramps on her own. A huge thank you to Mike Lawson of Lawson Creative who donated labor and some materials in order for this wish to be granted!
Rose S., 71, Greensburg, PA
/in Fulfilled WishesRose Slater, 71, a resident of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, had her wish for a lift chair granted by our Westmoreland County chapter. Slater, who lives on her own, has severe osteoarthritis and recently had back surgery. Due to this, she has great difficulty getting up out of her chair on her own. Having a lift chair will greatly improve her quality of life.

/in Fulfilled WishesDanielle Weinstein, a resident of New York, NY, recently had her wish for a recumbent exercise bicycle granted, thanks to our Long Island, NY chapter. Weinstein, 73, lives on her own on a fixed income. She is currently going through physical therapy and wants to be able to exercise through the winter so she can remain fit and try to maintain her balance and walking.
Vince W., Butler, PA
/in Fulfilled WishesDavid “Vince” Williams, a resident of Butler, Pennsylvania, had his wish to see the Cleveland Browns play the Pittsburgh Steelers granted, thanks to the Butler County chapter of Twilight Wish Foundation. Williams is a Navy veteran who is currently battling stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He is extremely involved in the Butler community, volunteering with organizations including Bundle Up Butler and Americorp and was a peer-to-peer rehab volunteer. Williams is known for lending a helping hand to those in need and is beloved by his fellow veterans and coworkers. He was surprised on December 20th by volunteers from the Butler County chapter who presented him with two tickets and a Nick Chubb #24 jersey! His wish to see the Cleveland Browns play in person was granted thanks to the generosity of Gail Paserba, a Steelers fan who donated her tickets. Palm Garden residents, Orlando, FL
/in Fulfilled WishesThe 95 residents of Palm Garden of Orlando Nursing Home had their wishes for large print Bibles granted, thanks to Twilight Wish Foundation. Many of the residents at this facility enjoy reading the Bible, but there are not many available to share and most are small print which is almost impossible for the seniors to read. Thanks to generous donors, Twilight Wish was able to gift the residents with 95 large print Bibles so that each resident has their own. Randie Duretz, National Director of Chapters, handed out the Bibles to the residents on Tuesday, December 21st.
Grundy Hall residents, Doylestown, PA
/in Fulfilled WishesDoylestown Township Parks and Recreation partnered with Twilight Wish to brighten the holidays for seniors in the community. Basic needs items such as lip balm, socks, hot chocolate and paper products were collected from December 1st through December 17th. Staff and volunteers from Twilight Wish Foundation and Doylestown Township sorted and delivered bags of these items to the residents of Grundy Hall in Doylestown, a low-income housing facility for seniors.
Arthur M., 78, Pittsburgh, PA
/in Fulfilled WishesArthur Merrell, a resident of Pittsburgh, recently had his simple wish for a new twin bed granted, thanks to our Allegheny County chapter. Merrell, 78, is an Air Force veteran who lives on his own. His old mattress was over 40 years old, but because he lives on a fixed income, he could not afford it on his own. Volunteers from the chapter delivered not only a new mattress, box spring and frame, but also new bedding! Merrell was thrilled that the new bedding was navy blue – Air Force colors!
Garden Spring Nursing Center, Willow Grove, PA
/in Fulfilled WishesThanks to the generosity of Angie’s Angels, we were able to grant the simple needs wishes of 32 residents of Garden Spring Center in Willow Grove. Angie’s Angels brightened the holidays for these residents by granting their wishes for simple items such as chocolates, sweatshirts, an UNO card game and coloring books and crayons. Angie’s Angels and Twilight Wish staff distributed the holiday gifts on Thursday, December 16th.
