Patricia Holub, 72, a resident of New York City, recently had her wish for a new stove granted, thanks to our Long Island, NY chapter. Holub is a retired social worker who has been blind since birth. She had been using a two burner electric hot plate because she could not afford a new stove on her own.  She also desperately needed pots & pans, cooking utensils etc.  Because of her medical issues and income level, she qualifies for 24/7 live in Medicaid covered care. Her caretakers are willing and eager to make her healthy, home cooked meals instead of having to rely on already prepared or processed foods.  Her wish was granted on January 4, 2020.
