Chauncey & Lester get a ride in a hot rod!
/in Fulfilled WishesChauncey Corbin and Lester Mason each had their wish to ride in a hot rod granted, thanks to our Worcester County chapter. Chaunce, 70, has been a resident of Worcester County Developmental Center since 1999. He absolutely loves cars, but because of his intellectual disability, was never able to get a driver’s license. Lester, 80, has been a resident of Worcester County Developmental Center for over 30 years. He carries around a big, heavy picture book of cars and enjoys pointing to the parts that he likes the most. Both men love going to the Ocean City Cruzers show to see and touch all the cars, especially the hot rods. They have never had the opportunity to ride in one and having this wish come true will have a tremendous positive impact on their lives. Their wish was granted on Wednesday, August 28th when they took turns riding in a 1929 Ford Roadster, thanks to Ocean City Cruzers Club member Ronnie Young.

Ginny meets Minnie Mouse!
/in Fulfilled WishesVirginia Clark, a resident of the Worcester County Development Center, had her wish to meet Minnie Mouse granted, thanks to our Worcester County chapter. Virginia, 82, has been a resident of the center since 1977. She is known to her friends as “Mom-Mom” and is described as funny, feisty and sweet. Virginia loves to color and write and always has her fanny pack of supplies with her. Although she enjoys relaxing in her recliner watching “The Price is Right,” what she loves the most is Minnie Mouse! Virginia dresses like her for every Halloween, had a Minnie Mouse-themed 80th birthday party and has a collection of Minnie Mouse clothing. Her wish to meet Minnie Mouse will be granted on July 17th when she is surprised by a visit from the iconic Disney character! Thank you to Amber Fraser of Amberlina’s Adventures for helping to grant this wish!
