Merrill, 66, has been a resident of her nursing facility for more than 13 years. Because of medical issues, she only leaves the facility to go to doctors’ appointments. Merrill wished to attend church services when her great nephews would be serving as acolytes. This church was founded by her grandparents so being able to attend services one more time was very important to Merrill.
