A group of elderly women who are friends and live in Sharpsburg Tower in Pittsburgh had their wish for a tea party granted, thanks to our Allegheny County chapter. These women get together every Friday in their community room to socialize and enjoy each other’s company. Most of the women do not drive so they do not have the option to go somewhere “fancy” for lunch. Several of the women in this group of friends volunteer with food box assistance at Roots of Faith in Sharpsburg and at a local senior center. The women were treated to high tea at Gia Visto tea room “Flowers in the Attic” and were dressed in their finest, including gloves, corsages and fancy hats, courtesy of the Allegheny County chapter. Special thanks to Urso Bus, LLC who discounted the cost of transporting the women to the wish.
