What is Tuesdays with Lori?
Tuesdays with Lori is a new wish granting legacy program that honors the memory of Lori Radel and her love of Twilight Wish Foundation’s mission. Lori loved granting wishes. She felt that seniors were a treasure and she wanted to give back to them after they had given of themselves throughout their lives.
She planned to retire early and dedicate her life to helping grant wishes to our most under served and oftentimes, forgotten and alone, seniors. Lori fought the effects of an autoimmune disorder for years. Unexpectedly, she passed in 2017, at the much too young age of 55.
Her dream of making a difference at Twilight Wish seemed like it would never happen. After she passed, her family and friends were driven to create this new program in Lori’s memory to grant the wishes of our elders who are at the end of their life’s journey.
Lori’s son, Corey, named the program which was influenced by the book, Tuesdays with Morrie which focuses on the individual and how important it is for all generations to value the lives of our elders and to honor their contributions toward paving the path for all of us.
Lori was heartbroken at the idea of seniors being alone without resources and knew that these simple wishes really changed their lives in tangible ways. The simple act of lunch out or cards sent brought so much joy to people who are often forgotten and ignored. Lori’s mission was to bring value and care to our seniors.
If you are unable to attend this year’s event, but are inspired to be a corporate or individual sponsor of Tuesdays with Lori, you can do so below. All Tuesdays with Lori sponsors will be recognized in print and electronic program materials. We welcome all donation levels.
