Judy Dingler recently had her wish to visit Wildwood, New Jersey and sit on the beach and feel the sand between her toes one more time granted. Wildwood holds a special place in her heart as she spent many years there, working in restaurants, on the boardwalk and even drove the tram car! While this was reason enough to grant this wish, there is a very poignant story behind it.
In 1987, Judy’s teenage daughter, Sharon, became pregnant while they were living in Wildwood. Because of circumstances, she gave the baby up for adoption. After 34 years of being separated, her daughter, Aimee, found her birth mother and Judy, her birth grandmother. Despite being apart for so many years, Aimee and Judy have since formed a very close relationship. Judy’s wish was to spend one more weekend in Wildwood with Aimee and they had a wonderful weekend together!
