John Lubeck, a resident of Gino J. Merli Veterans’ Center in Scranton, Pennsylvania, had his wish to see the Yankees play on his 100th birthday granted, thanks to our headquarters. John, who turned 100 on August 3rd, is a lifelong Yankees fan who watches them play every night. Although his childhood idol was Babe Ruth and John has followed the team ever since then, he has never been able to attend a game in person. He is a WWII veteran who served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater earning several medals including two Bronze Stars. John’s wish was granted on his 100th birthday!
