Andrea, 76, was fiercely independent her entire life, working full-time as a CNA in both hospitals and long-term care facilities for years. In April of 2025, she suffered a stroke leaving her wheelchair-dependent, despite ongoing physical therapy. Andrea could no longer shop or go out of her home on her own because she lacked the physical strength to travel far in her manual wheelchair. She wished for a motorized scooter which would enable her to grocery shop and do other errands on her own. Because Andrea lives on a fixed income, she could not afford the scooter on her own. Thanks to our generous donors, we were able to grant her wish, giving her the priceless gift of independence.
