Garden Spring Nursing Home, Willow Grove, PA
/in Fulfilled WishesThe residents of Garden Spring Nursing & Rehabilitation Center received a visit from the Quiver Traveling Farm on May 11th, thanks to Twilight Wish Foundation. Among the animals that visited that day were a calf, sheep, goats, a pig, a turkey, ducks, rabbits, chicks, and guinea pigs. It was a fun day for the residents who were able to pet and feed the animals.
Uptown String Band Performs at Neshaminy Manor, Warrington, PA
/in Fulfilled WishesResidents of Neshaminy Manor in Warrington were treated to a surprise performance by the Uptown String Band, Bucks County’s only Mummers organization, on Monday, May 9, 2022, thanks to local nonprofit Twilight Wish Foundation. The seniors, who were decked out in Mardi Gras beads, thoroughly enjoyed the performance and were dancing in their seats!
Joyce M., 65, Philadelphia, PA
/in Fulfilled WishesJoyce Mickens, a resident of Philadelphia, had her simple wish for new clothing and shoes granted, thanks to Twilight Wish Foundation. Mickens, 65, lives on her own in low-income senior housing. Most of her monthly income goes to bills and food with little left for any extras. Mickens volunteers every week to deliver lunch to other housebound residents at the Sam Tabas Apartments where she lives. Having her wish granted will boost her self-confidence and improve her quality of life. Staff from Twilight Wish delivered several gift cards to Mickens so that she can enjoy a shopping spree!
Beverlee S., 78, Telford, PA
/in Fulfilled WishesBeverlee Schnable, a resident of Telford, Pennsylvania, recently had her wish for hearing aids granted. Schnable, 78, lives on her own in subsidized senior living. Although she needs hearing aids, she cannot afford them on her fixed income. Despite having significant health issues, Schnable is very active in her community. She has volunteered at Grandview Hospital for 14 years, although this was interrupted by the pandemic. Schnable has also been an auxiliary for the Tylersport Fire Company, assisting with fundraising activities for the past 15 years. Additionally, she volunteers with Chosen 300 Ministries in Pottstown once a month as a meal server. Her wish for hearing aids was be granted on April 20, 2022.
Elsie D., 79, York, PA
/in Fulfilled WishesElsie Day, 79, a resident of York, Pennsylvania, recently had her wish to travel to Atlanta to celebrate her 80th birthday with her family granted, thanks to our headquarters. Although Day won’t turn 80 until October, she wished to make the trip now as she is battling stage four lung cancer. Day is originally from Haiti and has family around the world so they have never all been together at once. She made the trip to Atlanta at the end of February and had a wonderful time celebrating with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Laura K., 65, New Castle, PA
/in Fulfilled WishesLaura Kerr, 65, a resident of Haven Convalescent Home in New Castle, PA, recently had her wish to attend a MercyMe concert granted. Kerr has been cared for her whole life by her parents. She now shares a room with her mother at her facility. Kerr listens to KLOVE radio all day, every day – she truly loves music. Her wish was granted on February 18, 2022.
Myrtle W., 77, Greenville, TX
/in Fulfilled WishesMyrtle Wilson, 77, a resident of Greenville, Texas, recently had her wish for new clothing granted, thanks to our headquarters. Due to a recent illness, Wilson has lost a great deal of weight and none of her old clothes fit her. Her limited income doesn’t allow her to purchase new clothes on her own. Thanks to our generous donors, we were able to grant her wish.
Grundy Hall Arts & Craft Club, Warrington, PA
/in Fulfilled WishesTwilight Wish staff recently delivered arts and crafts supplies to the Arts & Crafts Club at Grundy Hall in Warrington, Pennsylvania. These residents meet weekly to create special cards and artistic creations for the other residents there.
Phyllis M., 73, Hernando, FL
/in Fulfilled WishesPhyllis Monsegur, a resident of The Grove Health & Rehabilitation in Hernando, had her wish to spend the day at the beach with her husband granted, thanks to our headquarters. Monsegur, 73, is a permanent resident of The Grove and is visited by her husband, John, every day. Because she is wheelchair-bound, it is difficult for her to leave the facility. They miss spending time together outside of the facility. Monsegur’s wish to spend some time at the beach and have lunch together was granted on February 6, 2022. Twilight Wish also provided her with a new outfit for this special occasion.
Elizabeth S., 69, Shoemakersville, PA
/in Fulfilled WishesElizabeth Sites, 69, a resident of Shoemakersville, Pennsylvania, recently had her wish for wheelchair accessible ramps installed on her home granted by our headquarters. Sites spent seven years in a nursing home after suffering three strokes. After she was released, she saved her money so she could afford to buy her own home. Since Sites lives on a fixed income, she could not afford to install the ramps on her own. A huge thank you to Mike Lawson of Lawson Creative who donated labor and some materials in order for this wish to be granted!
