Ray’s wish to tour an automated bakery is granted
/in Fulfilled WishesRaymond Wolken, a resident of Louisville, Kentucky, had his wish to tour a large, commercial bakery granted, thanks to our Louisville chapter. Ray, 88, spent most of his career working in a large bread bakery and wished to see how automated bakeries run today. An Army veteran, he is a member of American Legion Post 244, was a Boy Scout Master of Troop 346 and a member of the “Guard Guys” car club. Wolken and his wife have been married for 65 years and are the parents of four, grandparents of nine and have ten great-grandchildren. Thank you to the Adam Matthews Bakery of Louisville for granting this special wish!
Community Towers residents are treated to a Louisville Bats game
/in Fulfilled WishesOver a dozen elderly residents of Community Towers in Louisville had their wish to attend a Louisville Bats game granted, thanks to our Louisville chapter. Community Towers is located in an isolated area in Louisville where there are limited grocery stores, doctors’ offices and attractions that older adults would enjoy. Because of this, the seniors spend what little extra money they have on transportation to stores or doctor appointments. Twilight Wish is providing transportation and tickets to the game for the residents. The seniors had a wonderful day at the ballpark!
