Fran who is 80, has been through significant and sad changes over the last few years, including the loss of her husband, the loss of her beloved Chihuahua, Peanut, and displacement from her longtime home in Newark to a senior housing apartment in Wilmington, far from the community of friends and neighbors she knew for so many years.
She has endured these losses while also battling medical issues that have left her largely chair and apartment-bound. As a result, Fran has been experiencing loneliness and isolation. She very much misses the companionship and unconditional love that an animal can provide. Thanks to our Delaware chapter and PAWS for People, Fran will receive several visits from a therapy dog! Her smile says it all!!
