Retired librarian has her wish to visit the library one more time granted

Barbara, 79, has always loved to read and worked as a librarian for many years so her local library was one of her favorite places to visit. Because she has no transportation, she hadn’t been able to go to the library in over four years and missed it very much. Her simple, yet heartfelt, wish was granted on Thursday, August 21, 2025. Our Jacksonville chapter arranged for Barbara to be picked up at her home in a limo and driven to Charles Webb Wesconnett Library where she was greeted by library staff with balloons and a gift basket for her. They also set aside several books for her by her favorite authors for her to check out. After her library visit, Barbara was treated to lunch at her favorite Mexican restaurant with chapter volunteers and library staff!
