Jerelyn Fields, a resident of Hartford, had her wish to see a falcon in person granted, thanks to our Connecticut chapter. Fields, 74, has stage 4 pancreatic cancer and is in hospice care. She is a nature lover and is especially fond of birds. Fields always wished she had learned falconry and now, her one wish was to see a beautiful falcon in person and up close. She was a special education teacher for over 41 years and made a difference in many of her students’ lives. Teaching and learning are still very important to her and having the experience of seeing a falcon up close is her greatest wish come true. Thank you to A Place for Hope for bringing a falcon and several other birds to visit Fields at her apartment.
