Sister Thoma, 89, Columbus, OH

Sister Thoma Joan Swanson, 89,  recently had her wish to attend her family reunion granted. Sr. Thoma, a resident of Columbus, Ohio, is a member of the community of the Dominican Sisters of Peace. She has devoted her life to preaching the gospel through her artwork. Sr. Thoma was a missionary in Peru and taught art at Albertus Magnus College in Connecticut. Throughout the decades, she has worked hard to keep her family members connected through visits and phone calls. Sr. Thoma wished to attend the family reunion that was held in upstate New York on the farm her father grew up on in mid-August. This family reunion has been held annually for over 60 years!  Because she lives on a fixed income, she could not afford the travel expenses on her own. Thanks to generous donors, Twilight Wish made her wish come true and assisted with her travel expenses.
