Geraldine M., 91, Clairton, PA

Geraldine Miller, 91, a resident of Clairton, Pennsylvania, had her wish for a new mattress granted, thanks to our Allegheny County chapter. Geraldine is a very sweet woman who has been sleeping in her recliner for months. She was once on hospice where they provided a hospital bed and mattress. Once she “graduated” (no longer met the Medicare criteria) from hospice, they had to remove their equipment, which left her with an old mattress that was destroyed with springs poking through.  Unfortunately, because she is on a fixed income, she could not afford a new bed on her own.  At 91, Geraldine would love a comfortable bed that she can stretch out on and not be in pain. She always put others before herself, volunteering in her church for years, working with vacation bible school and as an usher. Thank you to Westmoreland Medical for donating the bed and Paula from Superior Home Care for making her wish happen!
