Dorothy C., 78, Poland, OH

Dorothy Cooper, 78, recently had her wish for hearing aids granted, thanks to our New Castle, PA/Youngstown, OH chapter and Centers for Hearing Care.  Dorothy is a widow of five years; after her husband passed away, she had to give up their family home and now rents.  She couldn’t afford hearing aids on her own because of her limited income.   Her hearing loss made her withdraw from others; she was afraid to be around others and not be able to hear what they were saying.  She had trouble talking on the phone and could no longer hear the minister in church.  Thanks to her new hearing aids, Dorothy will no longer “feel alone in a room with other people.” Pictured: Dorothy with New Castle chapter director Tom Ford and Dr. Sheryl Figliano of the Centers for Hearing Care.
