Bretonaires’ Band, Grand Rapids, MI

The Bretonaires Band, with members from 72-95 years old, is a resident-initiated program that runs 10 months of the year and performs at least 8 performances per year at a senior community in Grand Rapids, MI. They originally formed in 2005 by retired residents who live in the community and had not played an instrument since high school. They have continued to grow, and they now have 27 members of the band, which four are veterans that serviced in the United States Military. The band’s Twilight Wish is for new or used popular, religious, and light concert band music for all band instruments with the conductor’s score. They are looking for sheet music that is no longer needed by schools, churches, and music academies. Typically, the band music is identified as level 2, 3 or 4 in difficulty of play which is within the band members capabilities. Additional needs include a portable 88 key electronic keyboard with midi instrumental sound capability, a marimba, bells and small percussion equipment. If you can help or know of someone that can, please contact us today to grant this Twilight Wish.
